the bog cafe
The bog cafe was a three day festival come social space, engaging the public on the beauty and magic of Ardee Bog. It was a hand made festival involving locals, community groups, artists, educators and members of the wider peatlands community in Ireland. We hosted talks, workshops, walks, tours, opportunities to make and create, the sharing of stories and music, acts of participatory magic in which we celebrated the beauty and peculiarity of Ardee Bog, the wildlife and ecosystems it supports, the community who are interested in its preservation, and, the importance of bogs in our social history, folk memory and Irish culture.
